Pulverized Coal Grinding Plant

- 1.Ball Mill Pulverizers: These pulverizers consist of a rotating drum filled with steel balls. As the drum rotates, the coal gets crushed and ground by the falling steel balls. The pulverized coal is then blown into the combustion chamber of the boiler, where it mixes with air and ignites.
- 2.Vertical Roller Mill (VRM) Pulverizers: VRMs are increasingly being used as an alternative to ball mill pulverizers. They have a vertical orientation with rollers that apply pressure to the coal bed. The coal is crushed and ground between the rollers and a rotating table. The pulverized coal is then transported to the boiler for combustion.
The size and fineness of the pulverized coal produced by a coal pulverizer can be controlled by adjusting the coal feed rate, the grinding pressure, and the classifier settings. This allows operators to optimize the combustion process by achieving the desired coal particle size distribution.
Efficient coal pulverization is crucial for the overall performance of coal-fired power plants and other industrial processes that utilize coal. It ensures proper combustion, maximizes heat transfer, and reduces emissions.
