Raymond mill processing fly ash
Raymond mill is a common grinding equipment used for processing various minerals and materials. It can be used for grinding non-flammable and non-explosive materials with hardness less than 9.3 and humidity less than 6%, such as limestone, gypsum, barite, dolomite, marble, talc, and other materials. Fly ash is a byproduct of coal combustion and can also be processed using Raymond mill.

When processing fly ash with Raymond mill, the following steps can be followed:
- Preparation: Before starting the Raymond mill, the fly ash needs to be dried and ground to a certain fineness. If the fly ash is not dried, it can be dried using a rotary dryer or a fly ash dryer. The dried fly ash can then be ground to the desired fineness using a Raymond mill.
- Grinding: The fly ash is fed into the Raymond mill evenly and continuously by the vibrating feeder for grinding. The grinding roller and grinding ring inside the Raymond mill rotate at a high speed, generating a centrifugal force that pushes the material towards the grinding ring. The grinding roller applies pressure to the material, crushing and grinding it.
- Classification: After grinding, the fly ash particles are carried by the air flow and enter the classifier for classification. The classifier separates the fine particles from the coarse ones. The fine particles are collected by the dust collector, while the coarse particles return to the grinding chamber for regrinding.
- Collection: The fine fly ash particles collected by the dust collector are sent to the storage bin or packaging machine for storage or sale. The collected fly ash can be used as a supplementary cementitious material in the production of cement and concrete, or in other applications such as soil stabilization, construction materials, and fillers.
It’s important to note that the specific process parameters and equipment configuration may vary depending on the characteristics of the fly ash and the desired final product specifications. It’s recommended to consult the manufacturer’s guidelines and seek professional advice when setting up a fly ash processing plant using Raymond mill.
